About the Cardiovascular Society (Mauritius)
Established in December 2012, the Cardiovascular Society (Mauritius) is a prominent medical association comprising cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons. The Society is dedicated to promoting Continuous Medical Education (CME), training, and updates for its members to benefit the population and reduce the burden of cardiovascular diseases in Mauritius. The Society is affiliated with several prestigious institutions, including the Pan-African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the Medical Council of Mauritius, and the World Heart Federation.
Conference Highlights
The two-day conference featured distinguished speakers, including Professors Karen Sliwa and Jeline Blanche Cupido from Cape Town, South Africa. Topics covered included innovative approaches to cardiovascular disease prevention in Africa, heart failure in women, and the management of rheumatic valve disease in pregnancy. The conference provided a platform for over 200 doctors, including cardiologists, obstetricians, gynecologists, physicians, pediatricians, and general practitioners, to enhance their knowledge and skills.
